Backbone Support

ANCAD takes on the role of being a primary ‘Backbone’ organisation for action research, for measuring collective impact, and for shared outcomes measuring.

The Tamarack Institue in Canada defines a back bone organisation as: A separate organisation dedicated to coordinating the various dimensions and collaborators involved in the initiative.

Functions of a backbone organisation: There are six functions of a backbone organisation – see below – along with key indicators to measure how well these functions are performed. (Photo credit: Remi Walle)

ANCAD has a long standing reputation for supporting collaboration in the community, taking risks to find new and innovative ways to champion postive change.  We currently act as a backbone organisation in Auckland North. — Yvonne Powley , CEO.
