Date: 21 April 6.30pm to 8.30pm

Topic: Community resilience planning

Where: Channel View Lounge, Mary Thomas Centre, Takapuna

Hosted: ANCAD in partnership with Denise Bijoux, Catalyse

Guest Speaker: Dr Angela Doherty, Principal Science Adviser, Auckland Emergency Management

In these changing times, most of us realise that local resilience is increasingly important in times of disaster.

ANCAD is proud to be working with the Devonport Takapuna Local Board, Auckland Emergency Management and local people to plan how our local areas can be more resilient.

The focus is on four major areas:

  1. Reduction of risks from hazards;
  2. Readiness, awareness, preparedness and understanding;
  3. Response to manage disasters; and
  4. Recovery from disasters

What are the risks in your area? How can you and your local community be better prepared for disasters? And how might you manage and recover from disaster?

Save the date to join us, hear more and begin planning to improve local resilience for your community.

Pizza is from 6pm, hui from 6.30pm-8.30pm. Please RSVP for catering purposes to  094864820
