Seeking volunteer Chartered Accountants
Auckland North Community and Development (ANCAD), in partnership with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), the School of Accountancy at Massey University, DIA, Charities Services, Foundation North, Auckland Council, and RSM is introducing Community Accounting Aotearoa (CAA) provides community groups outside the main centres with free assistance on financial matters. Teams made up of senior accounting students from Massey University will provide support using digital technology software such as Zoom and Adobe Connect. Students receive practical experience working with not-for-profits and involvement in the local community sector. This initiative was successfully piloted during 2018 and has received funding support from the Lottery Grant Board.
Chartered Accountants who volunteer their time and expertise have an opportunity to supervise senior accounting students, contribute to strengthening the Community Sector while at the same time meeting their continuing professional development requirements. It is expected that the time commitment would be approximately 1 hour per week over a 6-12 week period.
