Over 100 people attended the special ANCAD 50th Anniversary Luncheon, held on October 17th in the Takapuna Senior Citizens Hall.
Auckland North Community and Development (ANCAD) has celebrated its 50th anniversary, with a very special luncheon event held Thursday October 17, at the Takapuna Senior Citizens Hall, where there were over 100 guests in attendance, from all parts of the community, including Auckland Council and the Takapuna-Devonport, Kaipātiki, Hibiscus and Bays Local Boards representatives in attendance. Many other stakeholders and members from the community and non-profit organisations were also present.
Connie Wright who attended said, “The people, the food, the amazing speakers, the whole ‘community vibe’ was heartfelt. I so enjoyed the day.” Bronwyn Morgan said “It’s such an outstanding achievement and thoroughly deserving of a celebration.”
ANCAD acknowledges all of those who have been a part of, or who have contributed to the journey of ANCAD’s involvement in service to the community on the North Shore and the Auckland North region, over the last 50 years. We thank Council and all funders past and present, supporters and staff past and present, for their dedication and inspirational work across several decades.
ANCAD looks forward to being involved in continuing to build resilient, safe and connected communities over the next 50 years and beyond.
Thank you for coming everyone! It was our pleasure to host you for this special occasion as we together celebrated ANCAD’s 50th anniversary in style. We also like to have thought of it of it as an opportunity for you to have also celebrated your achievements and those for whom you represent too. It was nice to take half a day to relax, enjoy and take a weird looking photo or two 🙂
Thank you to our entertaining MC and musician Pale Sauni, our keynote speaker Hilary Star Foged (LEAD) and the Pasifika student performers from Hibiscus Tuakana and from schools in Whangaparaoa and Orewa. Thanks go to everyone who was there for your company and support past and current and we recognise those who sent apologies and couldn’t make it. We thank you all, as we continue the mahi and this journey for our communities together.
