Auckland North Community and Development (ANCAD) is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is managed in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.

We recognise the importance of trust and are committed to handling personal information in a way that is respectful, secure, and consistent with how individuals would reasonably expect their information to be used.

What information we collect

  • organisation and role information
  • information provided when registering for events, programmes, or services
  • information shared through enquiries, feedback, or participation in our work

For consultancy and Expression of Interest (EOI) processes, we may also collect organisational and operational information, including:

  • organisational structure and details (e.g. legal status, age of organisation)
  • approximate annual income of the organisation
  • intent to apply for grants or funding
  • capability needs, challenges, and priorities
  • contact and location details relevant to service delivery

We only collect information that is necessary to understand your organisation’s context and to assess how we can best support you. This information is treated as confidential and is used solely for assessment and support purposes.

How we collect information

We collect personal information when you:

  • register for workshops, programmes, or events (including via platforms such as Humanitix)
  • subscribe to our communications (e.g. e-news via Mailchimp)
  • contact us directly (email, phone, or website forms)
  • engage with ANCAD through training, consultancy, or community initiatives

Why we collect your information

We collect and use your information to:

  • deliver training, programmes, and services
  • assess and respond to consultancy enquiries and Expressions of Interest
  • understand organisational needs and tailor support appropriately
  • communicate with you about relevant opportunities, updates, and resources
  • improve our services and understand community and sector needs
  • meet reporting and accountability requirements to funders and stakeholders

We will only use your information for the purpose it was collected, or for a closely related purpose that you would reasonably expect, unless we have your consent or are required by law.

Sharing your information

ANCAD does not sell or trade personal information.

We may share information with trusted third-party providers who support our operations, such as:

  • event registration platforms (e.g. Humanitix)
  • email communication platforms (e.g. Mailchimp)
  • IT and digital service providers

Where information is shared, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled securely and in accordance with privacy obligations.

Information provided through consultancy enquiries or EOIs is not shared externally without consent, unless required by law.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, or disclosure.

Information is stored securely using trusted systems, and access is limited to authorised staff, contractors, and volunteers who require it for their role. All personnel are required to uphold confidentiality obligations and follow ANCAD’s privacy and confidentiality procedures.

Access and correction

  • request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • request correction of that information if it is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date

Retention and disposal

When information is no longer needed, it is securely destroyed or de-identified in accordance with ANCAD’s policies and procedures.

Anonymity

Where appropriate, you may choose not to identify yourself or to use a pseudonym when interacting with us. However, in some cases, this may limit our ability to provide services or support.
