The latest edition of Community Voices has arrived, bringing together inspiring stories, practical insights and community-led initiatives that showcase the people and organisations making a difference across Tāmaki Makaurau and beyond.
Published by ANCAD, Community Voices celebrates the people, organisations and partnerships that help build stronger, safer and more connected communities. The Spring 2026 edition explores the power of connection, belonging and leadership, while reflecting on how community organisations are adapting to a changing environment and creating opportunities for people to contribute, connect and thrive.
Inside this issue, readers will discover the inspiring journey of Allyship Projects Trust, which is creating opportunities for migrant and ethnic communities through workshops, mentoring, business development and community initiatives. The issue also explores youth voice and participation, including the work of On a Roll and Bays Youth Council, highlighting the importance of creating opportunities for young people to have their say and shape their communities.
This edition celebrates the importance of community history, culture and storytelling. From Talanoa Tupuaga and the experiences of ethnic communities, to World Refugee Day, the history of Albany’s King George V Coronation Hall and the story of the Mary Thomas Centre, the magazine recognises the people, places and stories that have helped shape our communities.
Alongside these stories, readers will find practical information about ANCAD’s LiiFT Aotearoa and Community Accounting programmes, providing opportunities for community organisations to strengthen their governance, leadership, financial management and organisational capability.
